Alcohol is a Central Nervous System depressant. In low doses, alcohol acts primarily to depress inhibitory centers.   • Experiencing recurring alcohol-related legal problems.  Examples include getting arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, for damaging someone’s property, or for physically hurting someone while drunk.
  • Continued drinking in spite of ongoing relationship problems that are the result of drinking.
